Manufacturing error

We purchased this table and chairs for the patio of our new home. The wood is nice quality, the preassembled chairs are very nice, and the table seems quite sturdy. However, there was a significant manufacturing error that does not allow the leaf/extension to be opened. When it is opened, the pegs and holes that are supposed to secure it in place do not line up. This is in the manufactured part of the table and not something that can be adjusted in assembly. also unfortunately not something I could discover until it was fully assembled and upright. I'm debating now whether to return the item for replacement (a huge hassle due to it's size) or drill new holes which will impact stability. If it worked properly, it seems like a nice table, and has excellent chairs.
